I go back to work Monday, I am so thrilled.
I just found out today, my manager thinks my surgery wasn't that big of a deal. I'm not sure if I can deal with this clueless woman any more.

It's about time you got back to work after your surgery! How long can someone milk an ingown toenail. Geeez...
Just kiddin'. I'm glad you're on the road to recovery.
Bork Bork, Hork Hork!!
Sorry to hear you have to venture back to work & put up with idiocy!
The offer of a spare room whilst on vacation in Perth still stands!
My heart goes out to you.
Sorry Snap!
Your manager sounds like a real gem. NOT!!

Take your before and after x-rays. Or just the after x-rays, and post it on your office door - you do have an office door?. Nothing quite like some bolts in the neck to scare off anyone.

Good luck going back to work with your very nice and supportive manager. Boy, how clueless can someone be.
I agree - bring in the x-rays. What a loser. hang in there!

Hang in there snap.
Someone like that I doubt would be impressed by X-rays. They're pretty abstract, and someone who's never had bone pain might have trouble imagining it. Your scar might actually make more of an impression! One can hope, anyway.

Good luck Snapdragon...people never should think they know what another person is going thru unless they are walking in the exact shoes of that individual. We, each, are individual and experiene our own realities. I hope your co-workers are more on the ball and can give you the support you need when you return.
I was at my primary doctor's today, had a good b!tch fest with her about my manager. She was pretty astounded at mgr's attitude, but also said there is probably nothing I could do to change her mind. Some people are just clueless. It felt better just talking to someone and being validated (god, I hate that word) .
Anyway, I'm kicking off the 14 month plan --- retirement by 3/31/10!!!
///fingers crossed that I'm successful.....
Snap, you likely won't be able to get through to her at all. It's OK. Retirement is the bigger reward! Lots of good wishes that you can meet that goal!

You could make your x rays into your screen saver at work ( a passive-agressive way to make your point, if your boss is ever around your computer) We saw them here - they were scarey! Even if your boss wasn't impressed, whe would hear others talk about them with awe, and maybe get a clue. Your retirement goal sounds like a fabulous way to tolerate an ignorant manager. congratulations on your recovery! Tokie
