    2009 on Bike Journal

    Well, TE-ers!
Time to start logging those kms/miles again on BikeJournal! We were 7th club in 2008 (I think we were 7th or 8th in 2007 - can anyone remember?)

    http://bikejournal.com/

Three of us have logged our New Year's Day rides already...

    Oakleaf 53km
    RoadRaven 24km
    siouxgeonz 9km

...c'mon TE Whanau... the challenge is before us...

(I was wrapped to be 11th - last year I was 23rd... in 2009 I'd like to be in the top ten - just a good motivating goal to make sure I get on my bike and ride!)

I think I will convince my partner to log his 2009 miles for us... he reads TE and BikJournal and at 23,001km for the year in 2008, his rides might be useful for our talley - what do you all reckon?

My resolution for the year was to faithfully log my miles. I just paid for a premium membership as if I'm paying for it, I'll log it. Thanks for the reminder!! I'm in awe of the ladies and the miles!! Way to go!!!

Wow. My mileage looks so much more impressive when shown in kilometers!

I exceeded my goals in '08. I'm setting the same mileage goal in '09, but aiming for a commuter century (100 commute days). I am content that my mileage goals allow me to do lots of riding, but still have a life beyond the bike(s).

Dang, if it wasn't for REALLY slow months last January and November, I'd have been in the top 10 But I'm pretty much okay with my total mileage. Considering it's more than double what I did last year and WAY more than I've done since about 1993, I can't complain. And yeah, it sure does look better in km!

LOL... had to smile... when folks here talk about weight loss, it looks much better in imperial rather than metric!

Okay then, let's get our units straight for this year.

    Elevation gain in FEET.

    Distance travelled in KILOMETERS.

    Weight lost in POUNDS.

    Weight gained in KILOGRAMS.

    Everyone got that?

I'm on board! Just logged my first ride for 2009 today! I kept a journal last year and loved being able to look back at individual rides AND see the miles pile up! Go, TE!!

I'm trying to figure out why I'm not on the list for top mileage since I rode 4700+ miles in 2008 and am a TE member on Bikejournal. Not that it matters that much....I'm on my Crackberry right now, however, and don't have full access to Bikejournal on it so I can't check.

Two thoughts...if your miles are not logged against TE, then your miles don't show. You can belong to more than one club, but miles only count against one club. When you go to "club home", those stats show only the miles logged against TE (the page has lots of green). Yet, if you follow the link to TE from the "All Clubs" link on the home page, you'll the miles for all TE members, regardless of which club got credit for the miles (the page is has lots of blue).

Second thought is that RR grabbed stats not including indoor miles. Ignoring the religious beliefs on whether they matter or not, if you're used to looking at your miles with indoor, this list shows without.

BTW, Raven, I logged my (alas, indoor) miles this AM and thought you'd changed your handle....the caffeine hadn't kicked in yet. So the other half is logging to TE? Cool...

I logged 2000 miles for TE last year. Aiming for about the same this year, maybe a little more. Logged my first rides of 2009 yesterday and today.

I have almost 50 miles this year and plan to ride tomorrow (mountain). Last year I rode much less than 2007 and am completely okay with that. But I log and add to the pile even if it is a 10 mile mountain or 50 mile road ride.

BTW- KM makes my head hurt why can't we have just used those all our lives?
