Was thinking about this since I was given a rope and a pulley to use in my therapy. The pulley sounded like a wounded cat until I gave it a shot of White lighting ( no, not the kind from Tennessee ) Now, it's nice and quiet.

That reminds me, I use Boeshield on the hinge of my washing machine door a few weeks ago. It made this horrible hair raising squeal every time I opened the door. Now it's totally silent.

Pedros Oranj Peelz (however they spell it) to clean the kitchen cabinets annually. I've also used it to clean a wall-mounted, exhaust fan in the kitchen. It's supposed to be non-toxic, and boy does it clean.

Bike helmet to keep my husband from impaling his skull on the roofing nails in the attic while he re-wired the house.

I cut my own hair using my "take a look" mirror mounted on my clear cycling glasses. I'm sure any hair professional would cringe, but it looks good and it's free and everyone complimented me when I did it the first time when I cut 3 inches off (it's a bob with little layers).

I also use my multi tool for many non-cycling related projects around the house... seems we have lots of uses for metric allen wrenches for some reason.

Helmet mounted light to use as reading lamp on a dark bus.
(No, I didn't wear the helmet. *snork!*)

Not exactly bike, but from my tri gear...

I keep an old pair of swim goggles in my kitchen drawer. When its time to chop onions, on go the goggles! Works every time.

I have never used a Banana Keeper for anything other than its intended use.
