    Lurker Coming Out for Ideas

    To disable ads, please log-in.

    Hello Everyone,

I have been a lurker for some time now and I have appreciated all the great advice I have gleaned from this forum.

I decided this would be a great place to get ideas for a party I am attending this Sunday. It is a James Bond theme party and I really don't want to go as a typical Bond girl. You know, the slinky dresses and such So I'm hoping you ladies and gents will have some unique and funny ideas for a costume that I can quickly and cheaply put together.

    THANKS!

Very cool! What about going as M? She is a classy bossy type woman. Or maybe wear a black T-shirt with a 'Q' on it. I loved Q!

Or you could dress up as an Octopus for Octupussy or maybe a cat as ***** Galore?

This is a tough one. Short of choosing one of the extreme characters - as F8th noted - it's hard to find something distinctive enough to make it obvious who you are.

However, going as Moneypenny may provide something of an option that is:
    - retro
    - confident and in control

You could then embellish with the hat on the coatrack throw...

On the opposite extreme, Another option might be a gold bodysuit that mimics the painted (and suffocated) dancer from Goldfinger??

Oh this is funny - my 11-yr.old son and I just decided yesterday we'd like to have a "Bond party" for his birthday but we hadn't got further with ideas than asking the guests to wear suits (if they have), serving drinks in martini glasses and watching one of the more child-friendly Bond movies. Dh and I are both climbers so I suggested we could have everybody rappel out the livingroom window on the second floor when leaving, but son looked at bit sceptical at that

    Keep Them Coming

These are great ideas. Thank you.

It is now cold here in Nashville so I would prefer not to do the vamp thing which I know will already be overdone by the other ladies in the group. The party will be lots of fun and the plan is to meet for cocktails, food, casino games, and then head over to the theater to watch the new Bond movie. My preference is to don a costume that is fun and unique, a play on the name of one of the Bond girls, or one of the characters. You know, something unexpected

How about one of the more grotesque villains - you know, that guy with the huge teeth
