Once I went clipless, I started having mild pain along the outer edge of my right foot. It got progressively worse in the last year and had gotten to the point where I thought I might have to stop biking. I finally did a search on the web and found an old thread recommending shims or wedges under the cleat to help. I found them online and ordered them. I rode with them for the first time today.

For the first time in a year, I have no pain!!!! WOOOHOOOOO I wanted to post this in case anyone else ever has a pain on the outer edge of a foot as something to try. Utterly amazing. The pain felt like a deep muscle pull in my foot. There was no burning with it - just started hurting during a ride and would hurt a good bit after a ride.

But with the wedge, at least right now, it's gone. I'll update if it ever comes back.
