forty five miles on the WMRT

The thing I'm pleased about more than the distance is the fact that I managed to stave off any cramping by riding smart.
When i got that heavy-legged prelude to a cramp feeling I stopped for shot bloks and gatorade. We also stretched at rest stops, something I usually don't do.

    Here's the elevation graph-

I love the graph. And the real ride story---it's nice to solve a problem, huh?
"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." There was an adolescent bear in Frederick not long ago.
    In town!
I thought for a minute that I did see a bear but it turned out to be an overweight black lab
There is information posted at the trailheads on what to do if you see a bear.

What's holding up the extension is a protected species of bat making their home in the tunnel. I guess they have to provide an alternative roosting place, I don't know.
