Talking First Ride On My New Bike!

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Last night I picked up my new bike! She is a Specialized Ruby Expert Compact! She is sweeeeeeet!

This afternoon I took her out for her first ride! I just went out my door and cruised around my neighborhood and around the lake. We had an awesome time together! She makes cycling so pleasurable! I'm in love! Her name is Ruby and here she is:

Ruby! My hubby shot this pic this morning. Not a good one but how do you like her white seat and handlebar tape?! I hope I can keep them white!

Pictures from our ride this afternoon:

    My bike and Mount Rainier

    Park near my house.

Boat launch on Lake Tapps near my home.

KOMO 4 news arrived just as I did. They were setting up their cameras. I guess for tonight's news. The park was packed. The boats were lined up waiting to launch into the lake.

Rainier from another side of the lake.

I can't wait for tomorrow. I'm taking Ruby to Enumclaw for some back country farmland riding. Supposed to be in the high 80s! Whooo Hoooo!

What a beautiful bike - congrats, Sue! I know how exciting that feeling is, so I hope it stays with you each and every time you ride...many fun-filled miles to you both!

    Thanks everyone!!!!
As you can tell I'm very giddy with joy over here! I can't wait for tomorrow to arrive so that I can ride Ruby again!

I want to run over to REI tomorrow or Performance Bike and pick up some carbon bottle holders for her.

Mimi, I know I'm headless but that's because I told Joe to get a shot of just the bike! He sure follows directions very well!

Why carbon? those things are so spensive!
you could take the money you'd spend on one of those and put it towards...CLOTHES

Ya know, it just sucks the way some people have to live.

Wow, what a neat bike and a beautiful area for riding her. Enjoy!

Your bike is so purty and it looks like you'll have fantastic riding weather for the next couple of days. Have a great time with Ruby on those back country roads!

PS, to keep the handlebar tape clean, use Soft Scrub or Magic Eraser.

Wow - for both your bike and the gorgeous scenery that you "have" to ride in.
Congrats on your new ride! I hope you have many happy miles together. And I do love the white seat and bar tape!!!
