i don't think there are many (if any) auto racing fans here.
Does it really quality to be called a sport? It's not exactly something you can go to REI or Sports Authority and buy the equipment for.

It takes a tremendous amount of strength and cardio fitness to drive a road race car. That qualifies it as a sport in my book, regardless of the fact that the personal gear worn by the drivers obviously isn't the highest expenditure in the sport.
Personally I could care less about four-wheel racing, but I wouldn't dis the athletes. Indy car (or F1 or even sportscars) is not NASCAR.Speed comes from what you put behind you. - Judi Ketteler
