Who's going to the Chico Wildflower century on Sunday, April 24th?
Which ride are you doing: The Wildflower 100, the Mildflower 65, or the Flatflower (35 or 65 miles)?
Who's staying the night before?
and who's interested in dinner Saturday night?

Planning to do Wildflower 100. Currently looking for a place to stay - lodging in Chico Full!

I will be doing the 100 with my local-yokel group (we're working on a real name at the moment). Hubby will be along but not riding (that means he'll be dog sitting). We have plans to camp at the fairgrounds, though the location may move as one of our friends has some land up thataway and we may all camp there instead.
Dinner will be a birthday bash for one of our riding friends, so I probably couldn't make a TE dinner (but perhaps an appearance may be in order?).
I'll PM you with my contact info and perhaps we could at least meet, yes?

My first ride ever (4th time ever on my bike) was just this last weekend and I did the Party Pardee 50K. I finished it with ease which was a great feeling. I am doing the 65 Flatflower or Mildflower depending on if I have any time to ride in the next two weeks. This riding is a lot of fun! What other rides should I do this summer and fall? Any suggestions? I want to have fun, not kill myself!
ROFL Tahoe....sounds like you're already having a blast!....Well Done on the ride last weekend for only your 4th time ever on a bike!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
Well...America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride is full (of course!), but you can do one of the rides at the Tahoe Sierra Century right in your own backyard! It's not around the lake but it should be awful purty!Originally Posted by NorthTahoe

I haven't done this one and would like to if we're not in Utah then.

I have an idea- Let's do our own ride around Tahoe. I did it last year (we started at South Lake Tahoe. It's not hard, beautiful, and lots of places to stop for food. One of my friends played SAG (her husband went with me on his bike)so she took pics.
Maybe this could be the TE ride of the year?!

I am planning on the Wildflower also; there has finally been a little break in the rain to allow for some training outside of the gym!
Is anyone thinking about the Tour of the Unknown coast? It's supposed to be one of the hardest centuries. I am probably doing the 50 mile or metric century with a fellow cycless, a children's writer.
Tahoe is pretty fabulous.

I reserved a room at the Thunderbird Lodge (party of two) in Chico for the night of April 23rd and will not need it. Does anyone want to see if I can pass it on to a fellow cyclist doing the ride? I am going to camp at the Fair Grounds as I am coming as a party of one.
I'm thinkin' "Yokel Locals" is a fine bike group name.
All y'all riding the Wildflower, have a grand time!
spazz (whose bike is getting closer to home every day)
no regrets!

North Tahoe- How much? I have to come up late so that might be a good alternative for me

Oh good. You saw my note about having a room. I read you were looking for one.
I don't remember the price. They were giving me the deal for the Wildflower and I asked for a room for two. I was thinking I could call them up and tell them someone else is going to pay for the reservation as you are arriving before me. I could give them your name and then have you call them with the credit card information to hold the room for you. I have had the reservation for a couple months.
It is worth a try if you are still looking for a cheap room. I think it was around $50 or so.
E-mail me at jssolberg@sbcglobal.net. I can give you more information via my e-mail.
let me know if you don't take the room - two more gal-pals of mine have been added to the mix and are in need of a room.....
Cindy
Cindy Sue- I have a note to call you which I will do. Seems the house is full up there in good ole Chico!
Tell your friends that there's always the fairgrounds- all they need is a tentand $15.00!
