Wait...it's a Specialized dealer you want for the butt-o-meter, I think!
Good luck finding the right saddle for you...

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has contributed info on buying a new saddle. I'm about to start the search replace my old Juliana and I'm thrilled with what I'm finding out here. For starters it never occurred to me to measure my sit bones, even though I'm such a maniac about proper bike fit in every other way that I won't adjust anything by myself - I go to the LBS for every little tweak to make sure all the measurements are right. They're a Trek dealer so thanks to you guys I now know I can use their butt-o-meter as a starting point. I'm gonna try that chair test too.
Thanks again!

Trek has a butt-o-meter now, too. Kinda fun, like an etch-a-sketch. Gives you "colors" that supposedly match their saddles (but without any wiggle room, so bear that in mind if you think you want wiggle room). Have them use a tape measure on the marks you make if you want a numerical measurement.
