Advocacy Coordinator
International Mountain Bicycling Association
Boulder, Colorado

Introduction
The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) seeks a self-motivated, full-time advocacy staff member with experience in grassroots organizing that will work on local, state, national and international mountain bike access issues.

Job Responsibilities
Organize campaigns to preserve mountain bike access
Volunteer recruitment and leadership development
Expand and enhance IMBA coalition partnerships
Develop and organize local affiliate programs
Expand and enhance public land management agency partnerships
Design and develop advocacy campaign materials, program manuals and public education resources
Organize and provide staff support of two national committees
Develop and manage grants program
Represent IMBA at conferences and events
Develop resources for international programs
Maintain constituent databases
Nationwide travel required

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Government relations experience including legislative advocacy
Knowledge of mountain biking, recreation, and land management issues
At least two years experience in grassroots volunteer organizing
Superior written and verbal communication skills including strong presentation skills
Special event promotion and management experience
Grant writing experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Macintosh platform, and databases
Ideal candidate is an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for mountain biking

Organization Background
The International Mountain Bicycling Association is a non-profit educational association whose mission is to create, enhance, and preserve trail opportunities for mountain bikers worldwide. Since 1988, IMBA has been bringing out the best in mountain biking by encouraging low-impact riding, volunteer trailwork participation, cooperation among different trail user groups, grassroots advocacy, and innovative trail management solutions.

IMBA's headquarters are located in Boulder, Colorado, at the base of the Rocky Mountains. There are currently 22 staff members and 9 volunteer board members.

Compensation
Starting salary is in the mid-$30,000's. Medical insurance, dental insurance, and a deferred compensation plan are offered.
