Here is my new upgraded Dr Dew... I call her Dr Artsy Fartsy
I have a short 2 mile commute, use a shoulder bag to carry lunch and will use a backpack to shop. I can't stand to cover up the pretty wood fenders with a rack.
Sold the Marin Mtn bike on page one of this post, was going to buy a Surly but my LBS gave me a great deal on this Dr Dew, and then I started looking for parts... found Rivendel's (ouch, that's a dangerous place) from this forum and Woody's Fenders on a google search.
She is a functional piece of art.

Discipline is remembering what you want.
Love the fenders!
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Finally got my bike spruced up and ready for a photo shoot. she is a Specialized Tricross Sport from 2005. Just added the red bar tape this week and its almost like having a new bike
Here is my commuter. Luckily, my commute is only 4 miles each way and is relatively flat, so I can get away with having a single speed (hooray for less maintenance!).
The fold up Wald baskets are both heavy and noisy. I sound like a shopping cart going down the road. However, convenience has long since won over style in my life and they are gloriously convenient.
Do you have your Wald baskets attached with the little metal clips it came with? If so, try using zip ties instead (or in addition). We switched to zips and my baskets are nearly silent now.
This is my lovely itty bitty Trek. I've had it since May and it needs a name. Any suggestions?
There's so much pollution in the air now that if it weren't for our lungs there'd be no place to put it all.
