    Are disc brakes legal?

I'm posting this for a friend. He wants to try cross but his rig has disc brakes (it's used as a commuter). If he's just racing beginner is that OK? I think they're banned by UCI but I'm sure they'd be fine for a local race.

    Thanks!

They are not legal for UCI, are okay for others.

It will probably be fine for a local race, especially if he is a beginner.
    Just keep pedaling.
