    My first bike build

    To disable ads, please log-in.

It started as a small project that turned in to a larger project....but now it's almost done. I just have to thread the poplock and buy some shortie bar ends. Note the custom pieces - headset spacers, headset cap, and bar end caps. Also note the tensioner was modified with an angle grinder in order to fit on the bike. It should be a fun bike to commute on and maybe an occasional trail ride.

Very nice! It's a work of art. I would almost hate to take it for a spin.

The grips are Bontrager and all the other pieces are from Purely Custom.

It looks great! But there's something bothering me about the cables in the close up of the stem. Down there on the top tube...looks like the cable is being pinched or something? Like there's no ferrule on it? I admit my eyes are not great, and it could be the picture, but that would cause malfunction if it is the way it looks.

There is a ferrule but I also hadn't crimped the cables yet...at the time of the picture. I'm not sure you can see it though.

It's one of those motivational sports posters....but from a distance it looks like something naughty!
