Some of you know that I trained for a double century race a few years ago, Logan to Jackson, aka LOTOJA. It's 206 miles on Sept. 2. I'm not feeling like I want to attempt that crazy training schedule again, but I am psyched to put together a relay team for the race.
My newspaper is "open to the idea" of sponsoring an all-women's team of employees, but what to call ourselves?
The Write Stuff
Roll the Presses
Road Hard and Put Away Wet (prolly hard to get our publisher on board for that one)
Press Pokes (see, we might be semi-slow AND we're loyal Wyomingites AND it gets the newspaper flair)
Saddle Tramps (no sponsor connection, just fun)
Chicks with slicks
or another brilliant name of your choosing ... Thanks for playing!

I like your suggestions, and here are a couple from me...
My favourite all girl team name was:
Venus Envy
or how about
Team Bob (Babes on Bikes)
I'll check with DH tonight, too. He is great at coming up with names!

Kreb Cyclers
That's the name we gave ourselves - a bunch of biologists who bicycle. Have to make the engineers in the building think a bit. Especially since they outnumber us.

Spin Doctors?
What is your newspaper's name, if you don't mind telling?

Wheel Crazy --sounds lclose to those crazy/nutso about cycling!
It's the Jackson Hole News&Guide. I worked for the News before the merger five years ago... it REALLY chaps the publishers' hides when someone calls it the Nag. So that's a surefire way to lose sponsorship cash.
I like spin doctors, but most of us in the newsroom prefer to believe that we are completely and totally objective and unbiased on every single story. Yes, that's impossible, but it's our aim.
Venus envy is hil-arious. Again, perhaps a mite too racy for our sponsor.
Keep 'em coming!

A couple of us girlie cyclists plan to do the Lake Taupo cycle Challenge in November (160km, 100 miles) in aid of the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation and we're going to be known as "Boobs on Bikes"

Sounds fun... in my pre-kid days I used to work in TV News. Here are a few that I came up with along the Journalism lines...
1. Write n' Roll
2. Jackson Hole Cubbies (cub reporters) or Cubettes
3. Headline Honeys
4. Cutline Cutters
5. Byline Beauties or babes
6. Deadline Divas
Okay my brain is chapped. Have fun!
I like Write & Roll!
And, how about the Headline Hammers? Newsworthy Wheelers?
Or just: Red All Over
(And, your jerseys have to be some black, some white, and red all over! )
Or, what about NAG Not! And get your jerseys with a gorgeous, fast, galloping horse on them?
