I don't have a fave CD - but this is my fave Christmas song...
The Pogues and Kirsty McColl (what a great voice she had)

    It was christmas eve babe
    In the drunk tank
An old man said to me, wont see another one
And then he sang a song
    The rare old mountain dew
    I turned my face away
    And dreamed about you

    4 more priceless verses...

    You're a bum
    You're a punk
You're an old sl*t on junk
Lying there almost dead on a drip in that bed
    You scumbag, you maggot
    You cheap lousy faggot
    Happy Christmas your arse
I pray God its our last

    I could have been someone
    Well so could anyone
You took my dreams from me
    When I first found you
I kept them with me babe
I put them with my own
    Cant make it all alone
Ive built my dreams around you

I love that CD. It's hilarious. I have a not-so-secret crush on Steven Page. I also REALLY love the Sufjan Stevens boxed set. Some of his interpretations of different Christmas Carols are so beautiful they make me cry. My husband has been listening the Booker T. & the M.G.s Christmas album, I'm starting to love it too.

I'll have to check out Barenaked Ladies. My favorite is off of Aligator Stomp Cajun Christmas, Please Come Home for Christmas. It's the second song here (at about minute 2:30):

I used to crush on Steven Page, but ever since the bathroom sessions, I'm all about Ed.

I just don't know though--I love men who make me laugh--it's so hard to choose!

We just put in our names for the lottery on who gets to play Guitar Hero with Ed or Wine Tasting with Steve on the Ships and Dip cruise next month (and Trivia and Grilled Cheese with Kevin). Crossing my fingers I get in to at least one--it's limited seating because of the venues on the ship.

    Oooh, I can't wait!

Snap you of all people will love this CD. It is irreverent (the Happy Birthday rendition comes to mind), funny and musically quite good.

A Very Special Christmas #3 - specifically, song #7 - Christmas by Blues Traveler...that song has passion and energy!

Harmony: The Christmas Songs by The Nylons - I love acapella!

I'm fond of 5 Chinese Brothers, A Window Shopper's Christmas

    http://www.amazon.com/Window-Shopper...6993084&sr=8-6

How can a grinch like me not love a christmas album with a pawn shop on the cover - with guitars and amps in the window?

Not a happy, bubbly, sugar-sweet CD, but funny and sincere. ...and it tells the story of the Department Store Santa Clause Strike.

I think I have to look for Bare-naked Ladies - we have 2 of their albums... is this them doing traditional Chirstmas songs... or is it songs they have created themselves for this CD?

I think they wrote or re-arranged them all. "Naughty or nice, just consider the price to an Elf!" Sounds like an Ed song, doesn't it?

It seems like last year when they were in a parade on TV the song from the album they were singing was traditional (Jingle Bell Rock or something), but my son has monopolized the disk ever since we got it. He listens to it all year round.

My parents always used to listen to Mannheim Steamroller's Fresh Aire Christmas, so I guess I imprinted on it as a child. A bit of a guilty pleasure...

There are about 4 songs on this album that I absolutely cannot stand, but the more classical/choral pieces are exquisite.

I've, um, never actually seen the Charlie Brown christmas thing.
