Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when?
36 mph on Gamble Bay Rd NE on the Kitsap Peninsula on July 4, 2013

Another picture of yourself or your ride? At Blaine during the Tour de Whatcom 2013 105-mile ride

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: “You’re right. I totally agree with you.”

Most memorable moment on my bike: The first time I test rode my Vigorelli—a bike that actually fits me—was a revelation. I had been riding a Kona bike that was too big for me, and I was always anxious riding it. When I test rode the Vigorelli around the Lake Washington Loop, I could climb more easily, descend confidently, and just had a ball riding. I had a huge grin on my face the entire time. I finally understood everything my husband was saying about having fun riding.

Most fun ever had on a bike? Doing rollers, especially on the Kitsap Peninsula but really anywhere that has long stretches of open road. I hate climbing, but I love descending. I love any route with rollers where I can pick up enough speed descending that I don’t have to climb very much to crest the next hill.

I've been lurking and posting some in a male dominated forum and just happened to hear them mention this one. I'm like a fish out of water over there so I thought I would try this. I've been riding my entire life but not on quality bikes. My employer gave me my first Trek MTB for 30 years of service. They gave me the Trek hybrid for my retirement of 36 years of service. I'm still trying to figure it out since it's more of a road bike than anything. The speed scares me some but it does better on all these killer hills around here. Anytime I do anything I want to know as much about it as I can. I'm in good condition considering that I'm probably considered older than dirt in this sport but I'm active. I live on a farm back in the hills so I do farm work. I have five dogs that I care for. I rescued three of them. One of them weighs 150 pounds so I get a workout there. I work out at the gym, hike, and ride a bike. My daughter is 40 and I can keep up with her on a bike. I am also starting to run some. I might occasionally ask stupid questions so just humor me. I'm trying to learn. I didn't realize that riding a bike had become so complicated. LOL

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: Erm...

Most memorable moment on my bike: It's hard to pick a most memorable... There are too many great memories! One of the ones I'm most proud of is doing a 300K brevet last summer--my first brevet--that went up to Artist Point on Mount Baker. It was a really hard climb in a hard ride, and I was really nervous I wouldn't be able to handle it, but I ended up having a great time!

Most fun ever had on a bike? Either a ride that showcases the beauty of the Pacific NW, or commuting past people stuck in cars on a beautiful day...

Explanation of your handle: huh, what handle?

Explanation of your avatar: Don't have one

    Age (general or specific) 62

    Occupation: retired

Favorite bike: currently Specialized Sirrus Expert

What's in your stable? Currently I only have one bike (Specialized Sirrus Expert), but will be purchasing another (looking at the Ruby Elite) within a couple of mos.; I made the grave mistake of getting rid of my Paramount PDG--I LOVED that bike, we had many, many memorable rides together. I also had (but got rid of) a Specialized Stumpjumper Comp--I got too old for the mountain biking.

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? don't remember--I am just now getting back into cycling after a three year hiatus. Most likely going downhill from a mountain going into Palm Desert. I do remember "white knuckling" it.

Another picture of yourself or your ride? Nope

Most memorable moment on my bike: Riding with the big boys in my 40's and keeping up with them.

Most fun I've ever had on my bike: I went on the yearly San Diego Hostel Christmas Ride (San Diego to Palm Desert and back). It was a six day trip, and had the BEST time. I plan on going on this again in 2015.
