Subject: ABC mail Fund Raising ride for the Pulaski County Humane Society

The first annual (?) “Ride for the Noses” to benefit the Pulaski County Humane Society.

In light of the recent events at the Humane Society, we will be doing a fund raising ride to collect money for the Humane Society of Pulaski County.

The Arkansas Bicycle Club is sponsoring a ride this Saturday, November 10th, 2007 to benefit the Humane Society of Pulaski County. The offices of the Humane Society were vandalized and a vehicle stolen recently and we are rallying the troops to help. They perform a very valuable service for the community and it has a direct effect on cyclists. How you say? The Humane Society provides shelter for stray and neglected animals throughout the county but the main impact to cyclists is that they spay and neuter animals. Why is that important to us? It reduces that number of dogs that run out at us. See? It does effect you...

Name- Ride for the Noses
Date- Saturday, October 10th, 2007
Time- On the wheels at 9:00 am
Meeting Place- Intersection of Ferndale and Kanis Roads
Distance- approx a 30 mile loop
Fees- We are asking for a minimum $10.00 donation for the Humane Society of Pulaski County. Bring cash or a check made out to the Humane Society, not the ABC. Of course you can donate as much as you like, don’t stop at $10.00.

We will meet and ride to the Humane Society office and make the donation there and then make a loop ride back to the starting point. This will be a no drop ride so all riders are welcome however you should be aware that it is an open road course and we will not have police support.

Contact me for more info or directions to the start at or phone me at 501-374-6534. Feel free to forward this everyone you know. They do not have to be an ABC member to ride and donate.

Hope to see you there.
