I think I've reached a new height (or as my GF would argue, depth) of cycling enthusiasm.
At 6am Thursday, I woke up before the alarm and decided to go clean my drivetrain. Strolled into work afterwards feeling fabulous! What a great life I get to have!
Lest you think I am truly virtuous, I was going to clean the bike anyway on Thursday evening--but only because I am taking it to the bike shop today for a brake adjustment and the mechanic who is usually on duty will scold me if the chain is really dirty!

And a clean bike rides better too! bikerHen
yup. i was amazed how the difference it made when i cleaned out the crud that accumulated behind the pulleys of the rear derailleur!
Hah! My pet neurosis is fixing badly adjusted bike helmets and backpacks. Badly adjusted climbing harnesses freak me out too, but I can usually refrain from groping total strangers around the butt so that their harness will sit better...
But all my sons friends are used to me swooping down on them to fix their bike helmets. They come in with their helmets way back on the back of their heads with loose straps, and go out again race-worthy...
