6 Month Goal Update - WOW!

    To disable ads, please log-in.

On Dec 30, I posted this thread setting out my six month goals adn submitting myself to being called 'girly names' if I got off track:

    http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showt...ht=Silver+kill

While six months isn't quite up, I'm amazed at what's happened!

Goal: Drop Weight from 190 to 160.
Actual: Today, I'm 168 and happy - close, but progress slowed intentionally on the advice of TE Ladies.

Goal: Drop Waist from 35/36 to 31/32
Actual: I'm 31/32! Last month, for the first time in years, I bought jeans that fit me off the shelf! They never would have my short inseam in 36 inch jeans!!

Goal: Drop BMI from 29 to 25
Actual: I'm about 26...still room for improvement. But it's amazing how much healthier my diet is! AND I LIKE IT

Goal: Ride the Hilly Hundred in Bloomington(Two days)
Actual: The Hilly isn't until the fall. But, I've done the Harmony Hundred on two terribly windy days, my first century at the Horsey Hundred (oh my gosh, I didn't know Central Kentucky had mountains!) and I've taken SilverSon on his first metric century last week. I've done 1,100 miles since purchasing my Lemond in early March. Now, I look for hills because I can "burn them up"

Goal: Keep up with the athletically superior Silver
Actual: I can hold my own now and occassionally, when she's not feeling well, I can give her a run for her money!

Thanks for embracing this "honorary male member", providing advice, encouragement, and laughs. As I've said before, other forums are too macho for me and this is a safe place

Congratulations, Mr. Silver! No naming calling for you have done a fantastic job. Well, I guess we could call you Mr. Skinny, Pea Pole, etc but I think Renewed and Improved, Mr. Silver is more appropriate.

Great things come to those who wait and work for it. Your journey this past six months only proves hard work yields some very powerful and positive returns. Keep up the great work.

Wow! I read the things you done and never think about how short of a time it has been. Great job. That is one tiny waist- DH only wears a 31. Good luck finding shorts though.

ETA- We can't all keep up with our athletically superior spouses but us little chunks can at least try!! (Hmmm guess you aren't really a chunk anymore).

Well, MrS, I have often read you calling on or acknowledging the women here for their inspiration, but your little list of big achievements is truly inspirational too.

Well done, kudos to you, and I am pleased you are doing it with your family. It is so rewarding - yesterday I posted about a club race 4 of us were in, and it is so rewarding and satisfying to do this thing together... to all have separate goals and abilities - as you have in your house - and still have this very close "togetherness".

More power to you, MrS - just imagine what you will have conquered both personally and professionally by year's end with the help of your bicycle!

CONGRATULATIONS Mr. Silver!! You have done very well. Your waist is teeny, my oldest son's waist is a 30/31! Keep up your healthy lifestyle.

    LOL... no my dear...

to "awhi" someone is a Maori term/concept.

    It is said ar-fee

And it means to hug someone or surround them in warm thoughts!
Even before the internet, Maori had a word for virtual hugs!
