BftW is great. When I got my new bike last year, I cleaned up my old one and took it over to Bob's Bikes in Poolesville, where they'll take donations at any time of the year. I've got a bag of old saddles and cleaning supplies that I'm going to drop off one of these days, and Bob told me that they also need things like used sewing machines. Definitely check out the link Regina posted, it's a very cool organization.
"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."

If my sister doesn't take my old commuter home with her on Tuesday, I'll give it to them. Sounds like a great organization.
