Being from Holland I got a real kick out of this link about bicycles in Amsterdam. It sure brought back memories! Be sure to read all the comments at the bottom too.

The only trend missing from these pix is the riders carrying open umbrellas while riding in the rain, and talking on a cell phone. I saw a lot of that when I was over there last fall. LOL.

I would think I had died and gone to Heaven if I lived there.

    This is *Great*

I lived there from 2004-2006 (Haarlem, worked in Amsterdam) -- this brings back great memories!

What a great set of pictures - so glad I found it. I can feel the smile all over my face! Thanks for sharing it. Wouldn't it be great if we could all be that relaxed?

That was a fun photo essay. It looks like his readers have educated him.
and yes; reminds me of Italy... same story there; lots of bikes, no fear because the people in cars don't want to kill the bicyclists.

This is like that all over Holland. It is easier and most of the time faster with a bike. It takes me about 25 minutes with my bike to go to work (10 kilometers) and with a car on a good day 15 minutes.
