My report is on our website (link at the bottom) and it's long. Thom didn't get too many pictures since he was SAG for the last group of riders. He spent the day driving up to me and circling back to the last guy. Click on any of the pictures and you can see the micro gallery.

    Finally!

Great report. Cool that you got to ride with Curtis.

It's always fun to read someone's report of a ride you've done and you start thinking "Oh yeah - I remember that part!"

Great report Veronica. I feel like I was right there. Oh wait...I was! As I read along I kept saying to myself "me too" "me too!"

Now I'm curious, I want to see a picture of Thom to see if I recognize him!

Nice job! Makes my recent ride in NH look like peanuts. You'll be fine when you come out here. And we start at sea level .

There ought to be one on the website somewhere. I'll post one when I get home.

He was in the red Subaru.

I was wondering if Curtis gave up riding all together. I guess he just quit posting to his journal.

Great report, I've driven SAG for the Everest Challenge in this area and over some of these roads, but haven't ridden them. Might we see you at the EC this year or do you prerfer your doubles to be over in one day?

Hey Deanna...my boyfriend George will be doing EC this year and I may come up with him. It's my goal for next year...well, it was until I freaked out when he drove me up the Glacier Lodge climb out of Big Pine. I've never had an issue with heights, but for some reason I freaked when I looked down as we drove up. I'm sure I'll get over it, I seem to do better on a bike than in a car.

Thom usually has the camera, and he's not big on posting pictures of himself. So I had to search...

Wow, Veronica, great ride report. I really appreciate that you and others write great, detailed reports. I find them inspiring...they fuel my own hopes of doing longer and longer rides in the future.

Also, I find your total time vs. your riding time to be pretty amazing. Something like a total of one hour off the bike over a course of 200 miles? That is definitely something I have to keep working on...I don't spend a lot of time during any one break off the bike, but I think I do short stops too often.

Anyhow, thanks for the pics and story...looks like incredible country. Good job!

    Thanks, glad you enjoy it.

I had about 48 minutes off the bike at the rest stops and 4 other very brief stops for water. I didn't hit my lap counter for those 4, but I doubt they were more than 2 - 3 minutes.

I know some people feel better when they stop. Stopping feels good, but starting up again after a stop can be a bear.
