Team Aquafina Hosts Community Ride
in Preparation for The International–Tour de 'Toona

Meet Local Baseball Celeb and Enjoy Aquafina Water Breaks En Route

July 22, 2004 (Altoona, PA) -- Team Aquafina will be meeting and greeting locals in western Pennsylvania on Sunday, July 25 as the team prepares for the 451-mile International–Tour de 'Toona, which starts on Monday, July 26 and runs through August 1. In addition to winning races, reaching out to local communities is a top priority for Team Aquafina.

Through a partnership with ProCare Health Systems and Endurance Athletics, individuals and entire families are encouraged to come to the ProCare Altoona location at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 25 or to the ProCare Roaring Spring location at 5:00 PM. Individuals will be able to meet the team and receive a team photo autographed by the cyclists themselves.

The team will also be giving out prizes, including an opportunity to ride in the race caravan during the Tour de ‘Toona. Cyclists can also join the team for a casual ride between the two locations. The group will be leaving ProCare Altoona at 3:45 PM. Join local baseball phenom, Steamer, at the Altoona Curve Stadium for his first experience on a bicycle and have your picture taken with him. The ride will continue on a scenic route to Roaring Spring and should arrive at ProCare at 5:00 PM. There, join in an Aquafina water break before heading out on the return trip to Altoona.

The first 50 riders will receive either a tee shirt or water bottle. A $5 fee for the ride will be donated to the Holidaysburg Area YMCA and Garver Memorial YMCA. Water and support will be provided for the trip, approximately 15 miles each way. All riders must be 16 years of age and helmets are required. If you would like to meet the team but don’t wish to ride, please join us at either location to receive an autographed team photo, enter to win fantastic door prizes, and meet Team Aquafina.
