Thanks Veronica. Yes, I think that my plan is Hemet next. I've heard that the course isn't great, but I just want to get another one done before it heats up...lol...and that one is fairly local to me. I would love to do Solvang, but I don't know if I could get away for another weekend since I have Eastern Sierra in my sights now.

Solvang is a beautiful course. It was my first double, so maybe I'm a little biased. Or maybe because it rained buckets in the morning, it made the sun in the afternoon seem so much sweeter.

It was hard for me to stay focused on training between Solvang and my next double attempt which was a month later - Devil Mountain Double. My sister came to visit, we did a mountain bike tour, I got a bad cold...

For me it was better to spread them out a bit, to kind of have a break between. I did Davis in May and then Tam in August. So you have options, if you decide not to Hemet. The Death Valley Fall course is kind of nice. Or you could come up to the Bay Area and do Knoxville in September, tie it into a romantic wine country get away with your honey. There's also Fall Solvang.

Anyway... don't feel like you have to have it all done by June 2.

I know...I'm so lucky! The original plan was for him to finish the course and double back for me and "take me home"...lol. So, you can imagine how thrilled I was to have his company (and that view) for the entire day. He's the best and I couldn't have made that time without his encouragement and care.
