Along one of the routes I ride regularly, there is an abandoned vacuum cleaner about 6 feet off the road in a ditch.. it's been there forever - I can only think it must have fallen off someone's truck or something.

    A toilet cover.
Often, find a sock or 2. Why??? Or maybe people dry wet socks on the back of bike rack somehow?
A burnt out van in the middle of ravine bush. Now that was creepy. It was early morning. It did look like arson. (I knew a guy, an ex-cop, who committed suicide by setting himself and car on fire. So upon seeing this several years later, it turned me cold...on a hot day. I was cycling by myself.)

Lately I've been seeing banana peels on the road EVERYWHERE. What is up with that? Nobody in my club throws banana peels off while riding. The other clubs around here ride very, very hard and wouldn't be able to peel a banana while riding. This area isn't that densely populated. Yeah, I see solitary roadies or people I don't know in groups of two or three, but not enough to account for all these freakin' banana peels. This week, I even found a banana peel on the road I live on. I've lived here for 12 years and I have never seen another cyclist on my road, except the time I led two of my club-mates on a short cut. Is it raining bananas when I'm not looking? What's going on?

a child's rear bike seat carrier..by a construction site. Given the context, it truly looked strange today.

I saw an old computer monitor...almond colored, like the first computer monitor we ever had from Gateway Computers back in the late '80s. It was HUGE compared to what we have now. Why don't people use the recycle bins provided for electronics at the city dump? It gripes me so much to see stuff like that just pitched onto the side of the road!! I guess they think that a magical sinkhole will suck it away to never-never land!

My son found a pair of cheapie sunglasses on our very first ride out (I took him on sort of a test ride a couple of days ago to see if I thought he was ready to go out on the bike lanes). I took these pictures a couple of days later when we went on his first "long" ride; he's sporting his find.

    shoe

One high heel. I did wonder how it arrived there...

First off, for the person to lose it they would either have:
a-walked a lonnnng way to the Roe Hwy & it's not near pubs etc..
b-ran up the embankment & jumped over the fwy fence

    odd..

A friend and I were out early on a Sat morning and both happened to look over to the side of the road where there was the largest dildo both of us have ever seen. It was at least 14" long and had balls too. We almost fell off our bikes we were laughing so hard.
Weird thing was, it was gone when we rode back by later.
