I used to deal with that kind of cold water back up in Alberta. I do not miss it! Good for you for getting out and acclimatizing a bit.

First open water swim of the season today. Considering that we had a dusting of snow on the ground Wed morning, we got exactly what we were expecting. FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZING cold temp. Probably the coldest I have ever been in, colder than Lake Tahoe, colder than Maine....cold, brain freezing cold.
But, better today than at the start line next Sunday. We are going to try and get in one ot two more times this week.
