I'm going to take her out later today and I'm looking forward to it Our plan were that she was going to have 650B wheels both on the front and rear. But the frame was to small for a 650B rear wheel So now there's a lousy temporary 26" wheel on the back and a nice 650B wheel on the front.
There's a new Selle Italia Diva gel flow saddle and Ergon grips on my bike

What fun, and a great name for a mountain bike! Congratulations! Any reason you can't keep the wheels as they are? I know a couple of other riders who ride 650 on the front and 26 on the rear, and they don't seem to have a problem with this on the trail.
Yeah we've named her Lobbi
The combination with the 2 wheel sizes is fab But the standover height is unfortunately a bit high on my frame. I think it will work, though there aren't much clearance, when both my feet touch the ground. My BF will lower the fork travel from 100 mm to 80 mm if the SH leads to problems. The 650b wheel is very easy to ride, because it rolls over larger objects without any problems.
I definitely get why some ride with this combination, as you mention
The rear 26" wheel is a wheel from a very low end bike and that's why I want a better rear wheel. It's a pity to ride with a high end hub on the front and a heavy cheap hub on the rear I think I love bikes that roll well

It sounds like I would win some by reducing my fork also But I need to ride the bike a bunch of times before deciding I think. The El Mariachi is a very nice bike
It's not the custom version. We bought it from UK. It's a 15" from 2010 and we got the last one It was on sale and the price was under 300 dollars for the frame

I rode mine a few times at 100mm and haven't really noticed any difference in feel/handling since it was dropped (I don't think I'm using all the travel, as is. I need to put a cable-tie on a stanchion tube to see what I'm fully using). It makes me a bit less upright, which is good. I have relatively short legs and like to be less upright. I feel more stable, that way.

My Lobster is being converted to a light commuter bike with two 650b wheels with Conti Tour Ride 42c tires
I don't need a hardtail, because I've got my FS bike.
I'm so excited - the weather needs to be a bit warmer, before I take her for a ride
When I've got enough money, I'm going to buy a rigid carbon fork for her
