Keep reminding yourself this was taped in 1989, and his journey began in 1983. Part 2 is the "new" bike.

Here I thought the guy was cool who did the Iron Butt Rally in 1995 with a tower computer (and 6-CD changer!) in a saddlebag, a laptop display on his handlebars and a keyboard on his tank, running GPS software he wrote himself. Roberts has 12 years and absence of a motor on Martin Hildebrandt.

    Roberts, or Hildebrandt?

I met Martin. We rode up to Chicago send him off before the '95 rally started. I will never forget the four of us riding Lakeshore Drive, with the Beatles (and other American oldies) blasting from his speakers, dancing on the footpegs of my Sportster.

    A 275 pound bicycle?
With the modern micro-technology, I wonder if his bike could loose some weight?
