I am loving seeing all this banter amongst the old guard. Keep it up ladies. So nice to see you all posting on TD again.

Spring has FINALLY arrived in Kelowna. Latest/coolest spring ever I think. Yesterday we drove down to Penticton and went for a long ride in the SUN! I even got a bit of a burn on my face - so nice to feel the warmth again...

Bikingmomof3 is ok last I heard. She cannot ride a bike ever since her stroke because of balance issues. She still jogs and yogas. She still battles bad migraines.

Rode my bike to breakfast this morning, then took the long way home to get in a couple of hills and a few miles. The weather was gorgeous for that!
Then I got home, saw that my native mason solitary bees had started emerging in their nest boxes- so cute, the males with their little white mustaches! The males emerge first and hang around the boxes like gangs of hormonal teenage ruffians, waiting for the females to hatch out so they can jump them. I did some checking in my honeybee hive (found the queen, she was laying ok), and as soon as I was done it started raining. D'oh!- there go my plans to finish cleaning the post-winter tomato/cucumber bed.

Margo and I emailed each other for at least a year during and long after my weird disease debacle... from fall 2007 until at least fall 2008. She and I even had some hopes of matching our children up... her daughter was in the Israeli Army at the time and we thought Scott might really go for that! Alas, I don't think I have her email anymore, since my computer had a melt down and I lost all of my addresses.
Didn't Lise reappear last year for awhile? Maybe it was the year before.

How is every one? This writing stuff is expensive! I should have never sent that e-mail to the reenacting group!

I got an email from the woman I spoke to at the job fair, at the clinic near where I used to work. So, I guess my feeling that we clicked was correct. She sent me a list of "parameters" for fee for service clinicians, to make sure I was still interested. It was nothing unusual, so I emailed her back that I was *very* interested. I noticed she had cc'd the email to the clinic director, too. I recognized his name; I think I had applied for an internship there, but then I got the one I have before they called me. So, I have a feeling they like grads from Lesley. Yes, maybe it was worth the $ to go to a private university?
    I will keep you posted.

    Happy birthday Lisa!

Sounds good Crankin ... keeping my fingers crossed for you.

My friend Larry died on Sunday. Among other things, he built my race bike back in the day. He'd been sick a long time and it was time, but I will miss him.

    Sorry to hear that Oak.

Crankin - glad you picked a respected school, every bit of edge you can get is a big plus nowadays.

    Happy birthday, Lisa!
Sorry about your friend, Oak. No matter if it's "time" or not, it sucks. DH's cousin, who was more like an uncle, died last night. He had a brain tumor and he was actually having surgery when we went to AZ in March for my MIL's memorial. It was at his house; his wife still had the gathering, even though her husband was in the hospital. That says a lot about them. They were DH's only normal relatives that we enjoyed spending time with.
Pax, I chose Lesley because it has a holistic approach to therapy (we're known as the "la-la" school to students at other schools, but they are jealous) and they are tops in teaching/research about trauma. They also use a more project based type of education, lots and lots of reading, reflecting, research, writing and presentations, very little traditional exams (I've had one multiple choice test and 2 take home essay tests), which matches what I did as a teacher. They have a good track record for placing grads, too.

I just got an email from my mom about the tornado watch we're under. We have them all the time here and I don't even pay attention to them, but they freak her out.

She said "I'm tired of being scared all the time". This breaks my heart, I love her so much but I can't be with her all the time, she's lonely and she's frightened and it just sucks.
