I will be getting a dog when I move. There is a great shelter near where I'll be that I'm sure I will find a new buddy at.

Yes, Mimi and I both feel the same way about kitties. And we both help out our local cat rescue organizations. I hope everyone who gets a new pet bypasses breeders and first tries their local animal shelter to find one of poor homeless furry creatures who are aching to give all their grateful love to a new owner. Give them another chance to live a happy life. Prove to them they are wanted by someone, somewhere.

The philosophical implications of the Spork.

One must consider how much simpler the dinner table of life would be if our only decision was whether to use "the spork or the Leatherman for this meal."
http://www.rei.com/online/store/Sear...=spork&x=0&y=0 And even more elegant a question if the spork is made of titanium. The next higher order of complication would be whether one needed BOTH spork AND Leatherman.

All of life reduced to two simple tools.

Now, we mustn't forget the joyful freedom of chopsticks. http://www.snowpeak.com/gears/sct003.htm However, one must have the proper container for the consumption of liquids if one is using chopsticks. How do you taste a simmering pot of stew if you are using chopsticks? I think we find that a spoon is required, nonetheless.

    Hence, the spork. http://www.rei.com/online/store/Prod...ory_rn=5777365

The foon, my dear Grasshopper, is merely the zen reflection of the spork.

The noble sierra cup, now available in ti, is far more useful than a mug could ever be. It becomes bowl, plate, and mug all in one. It even dangles from your belt for instant access (yeah, that was fashionable in 1972).

I have the Rocky Cup, and use it in my kitchen as measuring cup and ladle.

I tried to post a link, but apparently the Rocky Cup is no longer made. I lost my Sierra Cup during a bout of hypothermia in the late 1970's on a group trip lead by Brent of "Brentley Softpacks" aka "Brenthaven" fame. www.brenthaven.com

I bought one of his belt-wallets at Christmas in Fairhaven long before he had a storefront. (mid 1980's, like 1984) I wonder if it's worth more than the $10 I paid at the time?
