    Cool Getting to Know You

    Real name: Liz
Where do you live? Dublin, CA

Explanation of your handle: Self explanatory

Explanation of your avatar: As soon as I can figure out how to make it fit on this forum - I'll have one.

    Age 48

    Occupation: Office Manager for Urologist

    Favorite bike:

    What's in your stable? Trek 5200 Project One-Cloud 9 2003

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 40+, downhill on the ride into King City, CA - Awesome!

Another picture of yourself or your ride? I'll have to load one on this site.

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: Its not that far - you can do it!

Most memorable moment on my bike: I had just got my first road bike and the Cinderella ride was in two days. My husband, son, and friend, talked me into doing the ride. I was still learning how to shift and clip in and out the day of the ride. My son told me I would have 63 miles to practice shifting etc. I finished the ride - even though it took me all day to do. I was exhausted, but it was the most fun I had ever had! I was hooked.

Most fun ever had on a bike? Really enjoyed a ride I did last spring - Paso Robles to Cambria, CA on the coast. It was a beautiful day and the completion of a 5 day bike trip. The longest I had ever traveled on a bike.

Where do you live? St. Louis

Explanation of your handle: I figure that's an easy one.

Explanation of your avatar: Still looking

    Age (general or specific) 41

    Occupation: Bike Shop manager

    Favorite bike: Lemond Buenos Aires

What's in your stable? Buenos Aires, older Gary Fisher Kaitai, and a frankenbike (old, free Schwinn frame with a hodge podge of parts)

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? 45, Marshall Road in St. Louis, last summer. This road is part of various routes around west county.

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: Like everyone else, I don't tell lies.

Most memorable moment on my bike: Luckily I wasn't on my bike, but unfortunately the most memorable event is one that I would rather not remember. I had my bike on my roof rack and backed up under an awning at work to unload some helmets. I completely destroyed my frame. I did this one week before I was scheduled to ride in the MS150. I was able to get a lower price replacement frame and build it up Thursday night. I went to the ride on Friday. I rode the new frame a little Thursday night and Friday morning on rollers to get things dialed in.

Most fun ever had on a bike? Finishing a ride feeling strong and fast.

Welcome all! You've come to a great place!

7- Where do you go to school and what critters are you working on. My M.S. dealt with a combo of behavior (kin recognition) and molecular biology - recognition of genetic relatedness through chemical cues in salamanders. I went more towards population genetics (marine shrimp) with the Ph.D., though. When do you expect to finish?

Explanation of your handle: I met a girl once named Waverly and just thought it was to cool. I use it all the time!

Explanation of your avatar: ?? I don’t think I have one

    Age (general or specific) 24

Occupation: Customer Service Rep. at a local bank

Favorite bike: The new pink Trek WSD

What's in your stable? Trek 2300 - road

Fastest speed on a road bike? where? when? Around 40 mph on a local ride

Another picture of yourself or your ride?

    Look below

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: I blamed my brother for lighting a bunch of matches and leaving them in a cup in the kitchen. It was really me. The reason it was such a big lie is because I let him get a whipping twice before I confessed

Most memorable moment on my bike: I just find riding so peaceful I am not sure of my most memorable ride. The time we saved somewhere around 5 turtles from the middle of the road was neat. I will probably have to say my first organized ride was the most memorable. I had a blast.

Most fun ever had on a bike? Oh that one is too hard! I can’t pick!

I broke the speed limit - over 80km/hr down a hill in the country in a club race handicap event. I was on fire that day (about 8 years ago now *sigh*)

Another picture of yourself or your ride?

What is the biggest lie you've ever told: I've done it, so there's no reason you can't (to a beginner MTBer)

Most memorable moment on my bike: Winning my first open track race title.
