wackyjacky- the bike turned out AMAZING! I hope she loves that bike and gets to ride it all the time (or you might go and steal it from her- or someone here might...). Nice!

    More pictures, please!

I was zipping through the site looking for examples of sprung saddles on mixties, and it struck me that many peeps on the forum post links to CL listings, which are great to alert people of mixties for sale out there, but after the listing is gone, the links are useless!

I like seeing pics of all the different types, so may I suggest that people try to also post the actual picture (saved from the original CL post and re-posted here) along with the link? That way we save the image here for posterity (and research)!

    Just a thought.

Here's an interesting mixte on CL. It has mtn bike wheels and looks like a mtn bike but it's a mixte. I'm very interested but am trying to look away...

Do you think the wheels are 26"? The ad doesn't say.

Very nice bike, though. I like that I am starting to see mixties with higher end tubing and frames...my Carlton has Reynolds 531.

I just want to say, for the record, I hate this thread.. it is like the biggest enabler ever

    I want a mixte BADLY...

So I have a dumb question... is it a bad idea to buy a "fixer-upper" mixte, or should I try to find one that is not in really bad shape... I am really kind of attached to the whole "vintage" idea though, so rebuild/old is the way I'd want to go, not new/modern.

*ahem* that didn't take long.... oops

Ignore my wonky saddle.. I bought the bike without one (well, I tested it with one, and told the seller I didn't want it) and threw on the stock saddle from my trek instead of leaving the seatpost naked for now.. it has a brooks coming. I did fix it after I realized how bad it was, but it was already dark

It needs a longer seatpost (already ordered, after searching out the right size), since the one on the bike is only 200mm (???) and it's out as far as it can go, but a good 3-4" shorter than I want, and I want to replace the bars and brake levers (also ordered) and add some racks (eventually). It may need new cables and housings.. I'm not sure yet. That's cheap enough that I may just take care of it when I swap out the bars and brake levers.

It's a fun little bike.. I think it will be great once I get it all set up like I want to
