Can we get a group rate?

I have no life. I worked nights until this May, so I never see any of my friends anymore because of the schedule difference. And two of my closest friends moved to opposite ends of the country. And everyone at my new job is 30 years older than I.

    Anyone got any cheese?

Oooh, I have cheese! And it's SOOOOO good!!!

I am on a diet and I ate a bunch 'o sushi after work so decided to skip dinner - wasn't too hungry. I sat with hubby and son while they ate and polished off two glasses of of my favourite french merlot and decided to add some of that delish 4 year aged white cheddar that I picked up last weekend. Yummy... However, now I've had too much wine, on an empty stomach, and may never get my marking done tonight... Sigh.... Life is good none-the-less....

Heh. sorry, no cheese. I haven't really hung out with friends who weren't online in ...uh... yeah. Too long. Pretty soon I won't have anywhere near compatible hours with DGF (next monday already? Jeebus.) so it looks even worse. *sigh* you know what? I don't even feel like talking about it.
Yay, I get better hours and more money, at the cost of yet more time with my DG. freakin fantastic.

I guess on the up-side, Gebo is getting so much cuddly attention now and since he's maturing he's getting a little more mellow so he'll sit in my lap... he's getting to be like a little dog or something. He'll run over to see me, lick my hand all over while I'm petting him, curl up in my lap (or on his back, so he looks dead aside from foot-twitches) and let me pet him for awhile... I never thought rats were capable of such affection. I guess everything has an upside.

I'll be a loser with you, Chyk. I'm a dork who works all the time and has a pet animal that's generally accepted as food for 'cooler' animals. :eyeroll: You and me and X as long as X finds her puked up pancreas and can somehow get it running again... I hope she survived last night satisfactorily...

I got called the "Supreme Dorkess" for wondering aloud about the etymology of the word 'linguini' assuming it had something to do with 'tongue' and 'pasta'

(Chica, do you feel dorky today? I was going to include you, but no one who looks that hot in a bikini has any right to be called a 'dork')

Egads Nanci! Now what? Maybe Snap is right and Addy is a vegetarian. Seriously, you will not feed her Mr. Toad, will you?

Dar- Did you find your bottle? Italian Guy sounds creepy. Stick with the fish dude and definitely share all (okay almost all-we do not want TD closed) details. Some of us live vicariously through others.

    Lise- How was the dinner????

Spokewrench- 3 days hiking in the Grand Canyon sounds wonderful!

CyclChyk-I like your picture, you are so cute.

As for therapy-that is what TD is. Add me to the online friends group. I have meet so many wonderful woman online and have actually met many in person and they still like me.

Offthegrid-no award, sorry. I read it from the beginning and am glad I did, but then again I am married with no social life.

Kit-new job begins Monday? Day hours? I was worried you would have less time for TD, I know selfish. I am sorry it means less time with your GF. That seriously s*cks.

Today was a crappy day. I did have a nice run, I did not go out until 9pm, but it was a great stress reliever.

How sad is it I come in from a run, change into my robe, check TD and then shower? Maybe it is I who needs help.

Off to shower and ponder why I am so attached to TD...well other than the obvious, all of you are wonderful and I would have any of you here in a heartbeat, pets and all. Okay, okay, I am getting sappy, off to shower.

    TD = Thread Drift....

Nanci - sorry Addy didn't actually eat. Does that mean s/he puked it back up, or just appeared to eat? How long can s/he go without eating? This reptilian stuff is interesting!

How you do ladies explain internet "friends" to people IRL? I have a very close group of "friends" who I have corresponded with for almost 10 years. We were all pregnant with babies who were due in December 1997 and we were posting on a December 1997 website. Later, after our babies were born, about 15 of us broke off from the group and started a private email list. Our "babies" are now turing 9 this December and we're still close and emailing regularly. It's a strange relationship that's difficult to explain to other people but I think it is just as valid as my real life friendships. I have met three of them and everyone has met someone on the list, but most of them live far from me and we may never meet. Who knows. I still think it's kinda cool that some of may still be in contact when the kiddos graduate...

OTG - oh I've got cheese baby Cheesehead over here **waving**.

Chyk - apparantly you may have imbibed a bit much. TD, my dear, means - ready for this?? - THREAD DRIFT! I hope I was subtle with that And I'm glad you like my Yank speak. You're pretty wicked funny yourself, lol.

Weasel - got my pants and they are gorgeous. The problem you say? Oh, yeah. The dude I chatted with online about my short 'ole inseam INSURED me these would fit. And the majority of the reviewers said these ran small. Yep, they're about 2 inches too long. Oh, and I have a bit, um, too much junk in the trunk if you know what I'm saying? I have HAD it! X, oh hottie in training (btw, Italian guy keeps calling me hottie so that's bringing up a bad vibe for me. But I'll get over it to support ya), send me some of your getting in kick a$$ shape vibes, would you? ***mumbling about junk in trunk**

Llise, why didn't you tell me there was dating protocol here? What's up with the mass email update and how do I get it set up? You know Chyk wants juicy details and I don't want to get booted off here. **sniffling** I kind of like it here, and **shuffling feet** you guys are like my sisters **starting to cry** and I'd miss you guys **full blow bawling** and I don't have any real friends either, bwaaa

Kelow -I think I get today's dork award. My water bottle was in my car. I must have remembered wrong because my other water bottle is home. "L" for me today. And I get you on the internet mom thing. I did the same thing with May 2002 babies. We are down to about 5 constant posters, who all have at least 2 kids now and are all stay at home moms. But I pop in and post once in a while and stay in touch with 2 other ones that don't post anymore. I don't think you can really explain to anyone unless they've done it as well **coughing, cali**. We're not all psycho
