OMG - I've been without an internet connection since Saturday. I've developed an eye twitch. I'm at the library trying to at least catch up on email. Don't think I'm going to make it through 200-odd TD posts before my time runs out. Gak! I always knew I suffered without the internet, but I didn't realise I spent quite as much time online as I actually do. Hopefully it'll be sorted tomorrow.

Drying my laundry IS keeping me happy! Seeing her with red and green and leopard print and pink stripes and purple and hot pink undies makes me laugh, which also means I'm happy. Plus I get to use her even when I'm not riding her, and that makes me happy, too.

Maybe i should take a picture, but no-one gets to see my undies except me, Flossie, and SKnot when I force him to fold laundry under duress. (he won't fold my "things", he pushes 'em into a little pile and leaves 'em for me) (teenage boys are such fun!)

(all my body modification is to mark events, so if I made a tattoo like that permanent I'd have to have a darn good life event for it to mark. My first century? My first double? STP in one day?)

I've gotta figure out PayPal so I can by 10 of them. Is PayPal safe? I don't trust the internet for money stuff. I'm a curmudgeon.

I'm a curmudgeon, too, KN. I resisted getting an ATM card for the longest time. PayPal seems safe. I've used it for a number of things. It's a way that "normal" people can exchange money safely. It seems better than mailing/accepting a check. It's not hard to set up. Really. Take it from me. I'm getting tatoos, too! One for me, one for 71 year old mom, one for brother, one for his soon-to-be wife. Helllloooo, Christmas stockings!

Whew! Evac drill done. Watching mgr and his mgr on the camera-sorta so I know when they come in (thou shalt not be online when mgrs of rank come by...!)

Cute mgr might be relieving me @ the end of my shift.

Knot- if you decide to get a bike chain tattoo on your bicep- a real one- hold up and I'll save a little money up and have one done, too. Maybe even a TE tattooing event. It's been way too long since I've had any modding done, and I need another tattoo!

    Grumpy this morning

May I please whine? No one needs to listen, I just need to complain. It was a PITA to get a cycling club t-shirt for my swap partner. I was glad to do it, not complaining about that, it was dealing with my club. They were slow, screwed up, ect. I finally got the shirt and they changed the colour scheme but I took it to the PO, placed it in a priority envelope with some extras, asked for a tracking number, which they stuck on it and gave me a copy, paid, and left my SS package in the hands of the USPS. Well, after half a day calling, the conclusion is, it is most likely lost. How could it get lost in my tiny PO? It is possible no one scanned it, but I am not holding out hope. With luck she received it and has not posted. I am so ticked and bummed at the same time. The PO told me to give it 14 days. What for? They lost it, I doubt they plan to find it. Unless she somehow received it and it was never, ever scanned, which I doubt.

    Thanks for letting me vent.

BMo3 - I've had a SS that did not post whether or not she received my gift. I just assume it's there. I've had issues before with the USPS tracking system. You cannot tell where it is, usually only if it's been delivered. I've had items that I know were delivered, but never showed up as delivered on there site. You can always ask the SS coordinator to PM her as ask if the gift was received.

Thanks Fishdr! Hopefully she has received it. I have not seen her around the boards , maybe she is out of town. I will wait a little longer. Patience is not a strong quality of mine.

You can't hang laundry on a steel n' Campy bike Have we taught you nothing?!? :::sigh::: Maybe an AV jersey, that's it.
I though the laundry was on the handlebars and brake levers? Those parts are aluminum. No danger of rust. Now I do like the spoke idea for socks. Take some old wheels, mount several horizonally one above the other, 36 socks per wheel, works like a lazy susan to load and unload. Hmmm... what spoke pattern would work best? 3-cross would be a pain. Maybe radial.

Flossie sits in the livingroom/diningroom of my apt, leaning against the wall about 5 feet from the table where I use the computer.

I'm getting a crick in my neck from turning to look at her all the time.

She is so PRETTY!!!!! The way the gold paint glows and the lugs catch the light just blows me away.

Extra motivation for a PayPal acct: I could then order those bike name stickers for Flosshilde. Haven't decided which of their script options would look best. Something Norse-like, but still elegant and lady-like.

(Flossie is much more a femme than I am) (though she IS a cyclocross-femme. Hmmmm.) (a graceful beauty with a butch side)

    Ooh, yum!

I broke down and placed a mail order for a few green bars. Haven't told Bubba though. I ordered one of their limited edition gold Jamaican bars. It'll be given the test run immediately so we may need a special run for these. Will report later. Thank you for the offer!

I'm so glad you're coming up for Foxy's Fall. There's going to be an AV invasion again. I haven't signed up because I don't know what the day will bring. It's my dad's b-day. Also, if it works out I'm going to ride the hills portion of the 100-mile course (about a metric in distance) so I could time things to see yawl.

SK, everytime I read about the gold jamaican bars I keep imagining the secret ingredient in them.

My dd is getting a passport! Which is good, since we are going to Canada on Friday. originally they told me that the paperwork was incomplete because the title of one of the documents was not translated into English, even though the body of the document was. I was totally sweating that we were going to have to cancel this weekend. I sent in what I thought was more documentation then neccessary figuring that there maybe a problem with one document but the others would cover it. Late yesterday CIS called back, and it turns out we were right, documentation is suffiencient, so The Empress (my friend's nickname for my daughter) now has an American passport. whew.
