You can most certainly get fit and lose weight with running. It's like any exercise program though - you have to work hard, eat right, and change up your routine keep your body from getting in an exercise rut.

Yes, this! The more you challenge your body and change things up, the more results you will see. I personally feel like that's the biggest key to weight loss and fitness. Though I do agree that diet is of course very important, I totally disagree that it's 80%. In my own personal experience, it's more like 40 or 50%, maybe even less. But, I think it really depends on the person and your routine.
