Try some dry lube on the cleats. When my X2s started to get difficult to clip into, I put some dry lube on the cleats and Voila! Good as new. I lube the cleats every few months or so.

I had never heard of Assos! I did a search... the stitching around the crotch is very prominent in the colored shorts... is that common?

Yes, but it's flat so really you cannot even tell it's there. Their website is http://www.assos.com/en/
If you want to buy some, look up Glory before you ask your local bike shop to order them - often times Glory has sales on Assos clothing so that would save you some $$$

I purchased the SSS shorts and rode in them for the first time yesterday!

Fit: Lower rise +4
Chamois: Not as bulky or thick as the PI's +3
Elastic grips at the thigh: Not what I am used to but ok I think it's ok +1
BF NOT noticing new pair of shorts +1 for shorts -10 for BF.

Love my SSS's, but then I haven't tried many different kinds.

I have a Dolce saddle, and I think it's too soft. I think that's why I'm having tailbone soreness. I'm currently trying a Brooks, but I think I'd be happier with a cutout (didn't really think I needed it before, but anyway....). The Jett is next on my list to try.
