    Dear Beth,

So sad to read about Erin's passing. You gave everything you could for her and gave her dignity. Erin is doing fine now and my heart goes out to you. It is a very sad time.

    Wish you well,

I'm so sorry to hear that Erin has crossed over. You did everything you could. She was lucky that she was so loved.

    Poem For Cats

And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
    To decide anything for myself.

Are you coming then? asked God.
    Soon, replied the whiskered angel
    But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.

But don't they understand? asked God
    That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.

    Eventually they will understand,
    Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

I am so sorry for your loss. Erin Kitty sounds like she lived a great life though - right up to the end. May you feel all of our hugs!

    Thank you

Thank all y'all (pleural of y'all ) for your kind words. I miss Erin, but I know she's catching healing rays and soon will be up to bouncing around, catching up on all the playing she missed. She had been ill with sinus infections much of her life, so she's has lots of catching up to do. I really appreciate my TE sisters.

And the poem, Sundial, you made me giggle, and then cry, so I read the first stanza again.

The other furry beasts, kitties Bonnie and Herald, and dog Nala have been looking for Erin today. Eventually we'll settle back into a routine of life.

    Beth,

I'm so sorry to read about Erin, I was so hoping that things would improve for her. I know how hard it is, but hope that soon the good memories outweigh the pain of losing her.

So sorry for you. Erin and my Little Kitty are probably curled up like book ends in front of a roaring fire. Contented and happy.

    Spoke,
Erin was a desert kitty at heart (born in Phoenix), so yes, she'll be curled up on the hearth of the roaring fire, then when finally warmed to her satisfaction, she'll move back a little and stretch fuuulllll out. when I lived in the mountains of Arizona and heated my house with a woodstove, Erin would sleep between the woodstove and the wall. Later in life, she had to make do with a heating pad. Just not the same if you asked her.

Know how hard it is to lose the little fuzzballs. When I've lost mine, they get a crepe myrtle of their own in the back yard, liberally salted.
