Prayers this morning for all of you, and your loved ones. Please use us here for venting and support!

A friend's DH was diagnosed 1-1/2 years ago with colon cancer that had spread to his liver. The docs predicted about 3 months to go, and that guy is not only still with us, but out biking and training, and supporting his wife's training for IM races, even sometimes during chemo.

The human body & spirit is amazing. Prayers for all of you!

Much love your way too, somehow I missed your response when I replied to eclectic. I didn't realise you had been living with this either.
Spokewrench... you also... what a fantastic source of inspiration TE is with you brave and enduring women and your partners here...

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

Christine - I am so sorry to hear of your boyfriend's diagnosis. Hugs & prayers for you both and your families. You must all be in a great deal of shock still, so cut yourself some slack on not training right now. It sounds like you have your priorities correctly set in turning your focus to him!

There is a ton of great support here on TE and there are many other sources of comfort and information out there. A friend of mine runs a forum called Cyclists Combating Cancer. The group was founded by a man named Damon Phinney and my friend, Will, took over as moderator when Damon passed. My husband & I take every opportunity to support this group and have made many great friends from it. They are very welcoming to anyone looking for support, answers, discussion about cancer and/or cycling. Cycling is the common bond in addition to their (or a loved one's) cancer. Members are located throughout the world, although primarily here in the USA. I hope you will check it out when you feel up to it. It really is a great group.

Hugs to all of you dealing with this now. Everyone here is so strong, lifting each other up as we each encounter the challenges of life.

Thank you so much everyone for your posts, thoughts and prayers.

Zen - I can't imagine waiting that long for something to happen - just the two weeks we are waiting to go to Mayo seem like an eternity but I guess we all do what we have to.

Spoke W - please keep me informed about how your BIL is doing

Texas Mermaid - thank you so much for access to the CCC site

Right now DBF is feeling much better because of the pain medication but he is antsy to get going, get some answers and a plan.

When I got back from Germany last week, my sister and brother in law were staying at my house. Bro in law had been at the hospital for two days and just got out. He has been diagnosed with colon cancer which has taken over at least 1/2 of his liver and may be in his lungs! More tests to go.

My heart goes out to you and I can just hope that all goes well as I hope it will with my bro in law.

    LBTC: Thanks for the butterflies.

My BIL goes in for surgery on Friday to remove the mass on his colon. So, far the tests show, hopefully, that the cancer is only in one lobe of the liver (they will check that when they do the surgery); and he has some stuff going on in his lungs, but they say it is NOT cancer. Could be Valley Fever (he lives in the desert around Tucson)??

He seems to be keeping his spirits up so far. A few good thoughts might help him in his battle so I'm asking for some healing thoughts coming his way!

Thanks so much for all your support ladies and Mr. Silver.

I am glad to hear your BIL I getting operated on and of the possibility that it is only in 1 liver lobe. That is a very good sign
AND that the lung may be valley fever - although not a good thing especially in his weakened state but at least it is treatable (one of my best GF's from Tempe had it last year)

Unfortunately for us the lesion in DBF's liver is on both lobes But we will know much more next week.

Sending prayers out for your BIL and the surgeons on Friday.
