Alert to all, if the rain keeps up, you might be able to see only the top of the Washington Monument in a day or so. They even had to shut down a section of the infamous Beltway this morning because apparently the road surface is "unstable" due to all this rain. I tried to ride today, between raindrops, but of course, it started after I logged about 5 miles. I don't mind riding in the rain but we are under a flood warning. Since the trail I ride is next to a stream and there were signs of flash flooding all over it (debris), I turned tail and headed home to Coach Troy & a good session on the trainer. On Sunday, I almost rode right into a flooded portion of the trail -- tunnel that underpasses a road -- that had been dry & passable not 20 minutes before. Are there any patron saints of weather to whom I can offer up some prayers for the rain to stop?
