Thank you for sharing your trip report! I actually just got back from the Big Island - got married at the Outrigger (Marriot) Waikoloa, and was thinking that it would be fun to bike around the island. Now I'm truely inspired!
Thanks again,

We got back late Wed. from our first vacation ever to Hawaii. It was fantastic.
We have a detailed ride report and pictures up on our website.

Isn't the Outrigger beautiful at sunset? What a wonderful place to have a wedding! Where on the grounds did they do the ceremony? We took so many photos of the palm trees reflected in the ponds that it was hard to decide which one to put up.
Did you get a chance to snorkel there? It was pretty good, but apparently there are places even better. It was my first time snorkeling so even better is hard for me to imagine. We're already thinking about going back and what we'll do.
Wow! How cool that you got married there!
Have a great day!

Oh yes, the Outrigger is gorgeous at sunset! We got married at "King's Knoll" - a grassy open spot by the pond - just past those ruins along the path. Beautiful sunset wedding pics.
I didn't get a chance to snorkel - the waves were pretty high when we were there.
My husband and I are looking into tandems now, and biking around the Big Island is definitely one of our aspirations!
Take care,

Veronica,
I loved your pictures !
What type of camera do you use? I've been to Hawaii twice for 2 weeks each time but only on Oahu.
I loved seeing those pictures.
Thanks for sharing.

life - death..... no...... birth - death, life has no opposite !
Thanks!
Thom took some of the pics with an Olympus E10. I took some with a Sony P5. Thom took all the fish pics with the P5. We got an underwater housing for it just for the trip.
It was our first time to Hawaii. We plan on going back next year. There is so much to see and so much that we missed because we were on the bike. We liked that it never felt all that crowded.

Hi Veronica,
I'd really love to read your report, but the link is broken. Do you have a copy somewhere that you could post?
Yeah, we don't use that account anymore. The 2003 stuff isn't readily accessible on the website anymore. I'll see if I can find it.

I prefer Kona Honu divers, they are very friendly and accommodating. I have no experience with Big Island, either one you choose make sure you do the manta dive.
I know this post was written 18 years ago; but can you restore the detailed ride report and picture?
I would love to see them!
I was not able to view it either. There might be photos on the blog:
