    Shoes/feet/knees...bwuh?

I injured my right knee last September. The fact that I work retail has seemed to be exacerbating things--I get off work and it's not only my knee (upper inside corner of the knee cap, roughly), but hip/butt muscles as well. I worked 8 hours on Saturday and was in horrible pain. I worked 8 hours today as well, and while my feet hurt, my knee and hip are okay. The only difference? Saturday I wore sneakers. Today, I wore Keen H2s. And now that I think about it, my long days got worse when it got too cold for me to wear my Keens to work.

I'm not entirely sure what's going on here, other than the fact that clearly my normal shoes are not helping.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

I have had those same type of issues. Clearly it was the shoes in my case. I over pronate and have a wide foot. I also wear orthotics. Some shoes ok, others not. Finally when I started zumba gold, I needed something because my feet were killing me for 2 days after. I finally went to a local running store and got fitted for shoes recommended for overpronators that were wide enough for my feet. The Brooks addiction series fit my feet and my wallet. They work great for me in combination with Powerstep Pinnacle Max insoles. YMMV, but I think your shoes are the culprit.

Dare I say "yoga" once again?

Working on your feet as you do, whatever quick fixes you can come up with are definitely in order (different shoes, orthotics, foam rolling, etc), but don't yield to the temptation to rely on them for the long term. Strengthen and balance the stabilizer muscles in the feet and hips ...

    Hope you feel better soon.
