Incredibly thankful for a bike ride today

Oh joy! I had a post-op follow up appointment with the heart Doc yesterday and he cleared me for a bike ride. Five weeks ago today I had surgery and today I got back on my bike for a short ride. Yahoo! I never wudda thunk it a few weeks ago but the body is an amazing thing. Even though it was a short ride < 4 miles I wanted to try out my new cycle shorts from TE's 2 fer 1 sale. I love my new shorts. However I didn't realize how slippery they would feel on the saddle, of course I'm a tad bit gun shy of any out of ordinary feeling on the bike and apprehensive about a potential fall. But, after the first couple of pedal strokes I was feeling mighty good. Our Michigan weather is cooperating for a couple of more days and I hope to get in two more rides this weekend.

    Ahhhhh bliss, life is good!

Woohoo Bike Rider! Congratulations! I am glad your doctor gave you the all clear. It must mean things are going well post op. Waiting can be so hard, but some things are definitely worth waiting for!

I have a pair of shorts that were super slippery the first time I wore them, so much so I was worried that they were not going to work for me. One washing made them just fine.

Glad to hear you are on the bike again.

Yay -- excellent news! Knew you were chomping at the bit to get back on the saddle so glad you were able to take your first post-op ride!
