what are the best shorts you've come across?
my Sugio's chamois pad has become way too cloth-y and causes major chaffing.

    Individual preference.
Fit is really important, no matter what else you like.

i like specialized's trail shorts (ordered from their website). I use them for road biking- centuries and such. They're comfortable and are decently form fitting. (Also, you can fit long johns or leg warmers on underneath for winter riding)

I tried a LOT of shorts before I purchased a pair of Gore Oxygen shorts. They are the least apt to turn my girl parts into hamburger, so I'm sold!

How old are your Sugoi shorts and what model?

I typically wear their Evolution or RS models, but I agree with Malkin that it comes down to fit and personal preference. Louis Garneau's Power Shorts seem to be a popular one among TE women these days. Shebeest has several popular models, too, but they've had distribution problems in the US this year and last, so I don't know how available they are.

Even good shorts go bad over time, so if your current Sugoi shorts are chafing you, it may be that they're just too long in the tooth. If you haven't replaced your saddle in a while, that too might be causing problems.
Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.

    OUCH! Really bad visual!

Really, we're all so different. Some people like lots of padding, others are minimalists. And it goes on.

I'd just throw into the mix to look at your saddle too. If you're a newer rider & can't get comfortable, sometimes the saddle is the culprit.

A visual image of shorts that are too long in the tooth seems funny enough to me.
