    LRRH Special Brew

    To disable ads, please log-in.

OK, for you gals that are coming for LRRH and like beer, DH has offered to make a special batch in honor of the ride. He's done this before for other "events". Not that he needs an excuse to brew, but it is a good one regardless.

So given that it's likely to be summer-ish, we're thinking either an American wheat beer (something like "Wolfie's Wily Wheat") or a pale ale (such as "Li'l Red's Pale Ale"). Preferences?

Note that we always put our homebrew in kegs, and such a keg would be found at our house. We're hoping to have a little post-ride get together at Casa Yellow before we mosey to dinner. I apologize to those beer lovers that aren't staying in Salt Lake Saturday night, but we don't do bottles.

Anyhoo, what say you? Wheat or Ale?

Oh, now I thought aka_kim would be the first to reply. I know she's undecided about where to stay Sat night. Think this will sway her?

Since she and Jobob are renting a car together, I think there will be a bit of peer pressure. Where there is beer, there is jobob.

Homemade brew could definitely sway me. Pale ale is my choice .

    What says jobob?

Whew, I was envisioning jobob stealing the rental car and abandoning Kim in Logan.

I abstain. But couldn't we bring a keg on the mountain biking trip? There ought to be room in the van.

Um, I already pm'd her. Since we could take an equal volume of cans why can't we just take 1 really big can? Less trash this way and much better beer.

    Update

Well, after too much time & money, DH finally has the beer serving setup done and actually functional. He confessed to me last night, however, that he now doesn't have enough time to brew another batch to be ready for LRRH. Never fear, though! We have (and will continue to have until they run out) the following 4 beers on tap at Casa Yellow:

    'Merkin Pale Ale
    English Pale Ale
    Scottish 80
    Porter

It was warm yesterday and we sat around drinking waaaaay too much of it. But I don't think we'll kill any of the kegs in the next 3 weeks. No promises, though!

Are these all brewed by Big Strong Man?

I'm getting so excited. Can't believe it's almost here.

    Cheers!
