I have more friends with serious illnesses these days as well. But I think a large part of it is because me and my immediate friends and family are all getting older.As an example- My daughters (early 30's) were here for thanksgiving and they were remarking that so many of their friends were having babies these days. Meanwhile, none of my age friends are having babies, but many are getting heart bypasses, hip replacements, cancer, etc.
