They have itty bitty feathers! I wonder if those grew since they hatched, or if they just weren't apparent at first.

That is awesome. My kids love it!
I think they're Rufous Hummingbirds. Mama seems to have that coloration when she lands where you can see color on her other than green.
Beth
she's actually a non-migrating Channel Islands Allen's Hummingbird, hence the name "Phoebe Allens"![]()
Phoebe's Facebook page has great video of Phoebe feeding her babies.
They are growing very fast.
OMG, I tuned in as she was feeding them! So far, I saw one hatch, and now the feeding. Cool! They are getting bigger, but I guess that's relative.
The kids are huge! They barely fit in the nest.
The estimated fledge date is 2/8 - 2/18. I will be surprised if they stay in the nest another two weeks.
They are alot bigger on my screen than they are in real life.
Wow! I have not looked in about a week. They sure have gotten big! Every once in a while you see one of their long tongues dart out or they practice furiously beating their wings.
they are just two little pooping machines!!
The "fledge watch" officially begins today. The kids are preening like crazy. Getting ready for the big event, I suppose.
