you really need to try them on. I swam competitively in HS and college and always wore Speedo, but now I can't (they just don't fit anymore). I have better luck with TYR, and have liked my Aquasphere goggles very much, too. I really depends on how they fit your face.

I agree with trying them on. The rule of thumb that I've always heard is...while in the store, take them out of the package and place the goggles on your face but without putting the strap over your head. If the goggles have good suction around your eyes and don't immediately fall off, then it's a "good fit". That's how I've always done it, and for the most part...it works well.

As for a specific brand...I'm partial to Aquasphere. I've been using the Aquasphere Kaimen goggle for several years with good success. I have also tried their Cayenne goggle and liked it, as well. I tend to lean towards goggles that have a 1-piece design, as they feel more comfortable to me. However, your results may vary.

I love you guys out there, I would so love to hear all your different accents too, I have to read in a very strange way, to make it all feel more realistic.

    Anyway, great feedback, many thanks.

Very often these days, items like goggles are bubble packed so you cannot try them on.

I suppose the type of seal is important and if the anti fog is impregnated into the material and not a coating?

One more sillier question, the metallic/mirro goggles, are they purely for the sun?!

    ............chuckles to herself
, all this and I will be only swimming a mile hopefully but then again, maybe the English Channel sometime.

I just bought a new pair of googles. I was able to try on ~10 pairs- they were all packed in the snap-close bubble packages, not the ones that are crimped shut. I settled on a pair of Aqua Sphere Lady Kayenne. They fit my small face well, I love the ease of adjustment, and they were the most flexible of all the styles and brands I tried.

It's definitely a personal preference thing- have fun shopping!

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, don't tell me that, I've spent the last few hours looking at so many and so like the Aqua Sphere Kayenne.

Actually, before I buy anything online I am going out tomorrow to try and locate a few shops that stock swimming goggles and see if I can try them on first. Not sure about where you live but in the UK everybody is so concerned about Health and Safety, I will probably be told I cannot try any goggles on in case I have conjunctivitis or worse!

Off to bed, 'cos I am all goggled out!

    nope

You can't try goggles on anywhere .

http://www.aquasphereswim.com.au/ Did you have a look at this site?

I think i had myself muddled there for a min..after looking @ the official site-The Kaimans are the ok ones. The Vista ones were the pair that drove me up the wall...http://www.aquasphereswim.com.au/us/..._clr_aqua.html

Am just going to call you Crazy for now, 'cos I am after the Kayenne's, not Kairman's and definitely not Vista.

Still, am always pleased that I am not the only one who gets muddled up....

Yes, I spent ages on the Aqua Sphere site for the UK.
