After reading all the posts on here about the importance of the right sized saddle to fit your sitbones I finally realized that the discomfort I was feeling after 15-20 miles just might be due to my saddle.
Went off to the local bike shop the other day and had them measure me on the butt-o-meter and sure enough my saddle was not wide enough!
WOW, after trying the new saddle for a couple of rides on the trainer it is amazing the difference. Who would have though something some simple could make such a HUGH difference!
Thank you for all the wonderful advice I find on here!!!!

2009 Specialized Roubaix pro/SMP lite 209
2010 Trek 4300/Specialized ariel 155
it makes a WORLD of difference. Mine was too small as well.
I ended up with a Specialized Body geometry saddle (by far the MOST comfortable) i have tried.
I totally know what you mean-- about 6 weeks ago I finally broke down and bought a new saddle (a terry butterfly) and it's amazing how comfortable it is. And it's not just my rear that's happy, my hands feel better too...
I ended up with the Specialized body geometry saddle. So far 2 thumbs up!
I aspire to be...the best I can be...the best I've ever been!

I believe the one I have is the Specialized Ariel. Got in a nice ride on the trainer tonight and my butt is still smiling![]()
