And not far from Canada when at Niagara Falls. You could have hopped over and sample the Ontario wineries in the Niagara-on-the-Lake region. So Maidei is going ..where next?

I didn't make it into town yesterday but she should be waiting for me at the post office. Hoping to take her for a little ride with some friends later today.

After she's seen East Central Ohio, who's next? Owlie, FlyingScot, Roadtrip, artifactos, am I missing any other Ahah'ns? Or does she go to Indiana?

The club rides at 8:00 a.m. Too cold! Three of us went out on our own a little later. There was still frost on the ground when we started out. Bundle up, Maidei!



We had a wind storm last week and most of the leaves are off the trees. There wasn't much fall color this year anyway, because of the drought. We took a little break by the side of the road.



We got to see a covered bridge...



and rode through it.



This is only the middle of the hill? I'm pooped!



But the view from the top is worth it.



We stopped to refill a water bottle at the Flint Ridge park, where Native Americans quarried flint for millennia - from prehistory through the European invasion. Flint is still plentiful there, and the park hosts a flint knap-in and a Native American powwow (separate events) every year.





We'll check out some more of the local historical sites later in the week.
